Terms of service

The agreement between you and DesiMail: what you can expect from us, what we expect from you, and what happens when things go wrong. Plain words, no small print.

Last updated 18 October 2026

This agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and DesiMail, which runs DesiMail. By creating an account you accept them, along with our privacy policy. If you sign up for a business, you confirm you may accept them on its behalf.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older and give us true details.
  • Keep your sign-in safe. The account owner must turn on two-step sign-in before the first send.
  • You are responsible for everything done in your account, including by teammates you invite.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has got in.

The free trial

The trial lasts 14 days or 100 emails, whichever ends first, with at most 25 emails a day. Trial emails go out through a shared DesiMail domain and carry a short trial note in the footer. Each person, and each sending domain, gets one trial. When it ends, sending stops; you can still sign in, see your lists and reports, and export them.

Plans and payment

  • Plans are rented for a set period, usually 30 days, and paid in Naira, by card through Paystack or by bank transfer. They do not renew on their own: you pay again when you want another period.
  • A plan starts once we have confirmed your payment. For bank transfers, that is when the money reaches our account.
  • Paying before your plan ends adds the new period to the end of the current one, so you never lose days.
  • Each plan sets how many emails, address checks, contacts, domains and teammates you get. Unused amounts do not carry over to the next period.
  • We do not refund unused days or unused emails. If you think you were charged by mistake, tell us within 30 days and we will look into it.
  • Paid plans send only from a domain you own and have verified with us.

When a plan ends, sending, importing and checking stop. You keep read and export access to your data.

How sending works

These rules protect your reputation and everyone else's, and they cannot be switched off:

  • Every address is checked before it can be sent to, and checks older than 30 days are done again.
  • Risky addresses, such as catch-all and role addresses, are held back unless you include them for a campaign.
  • Every email carries your postal address and a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Once someone unsubscribes, complains or hard-bounces, no one sending through DesiMail can email them again.
  • Plans set daily and per-period limits, and new domains start with lower daily limits that grow over the first weeks.

What you must not send

  • Spam, or email to people who did not agree to it.
  • Phishing, requests for passwords or payment details under false pretences, or links that pretend to be someone else.
  • Malware, or links to it.
  • Anything illegal, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Email with a false sender, or a subject line meant to mislead.

Some campaigns are held for a short review before they send. That is part of keeping the service safe, not a judgement on you.

Pausing and suspending

If too many of your emails bounce or are reported as spam, sending pauses automatically until we have looked at it with you. We may also pause sending, or suspend an account, if we believe these terms have been broken. We tell you why.

When an account is suspended for abuse, sending stops and its sending domains are removed straight away. Its lists are hidden, then deleted after 30 days. Payments for the current period are not refunded.

Your data

Your lists, templates and campaigns are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run DesiMail for you, as our privacy policy describes. You can export your contacts and reports at any time.

Closing your account

The account owner can ask to close the account at any time. Sending, importing and checking stop at once. Your data stays readable and exportable for 30 days, then it is deleted; you can change your mind before then. We keep payment records for the books, and unsubscribes so those people stay protected.

The service

We work hard to keep DesiMail running and your emails moving, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. We also cannot promise where an email lands: whether it reaches the inbox is decided by the receiving mail service. Address checks are accurate but not perfect; a few addresses may still bounce.

We improve DesiMail all the time. If we remove something important you rely on, we will tell you first.

Liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost business, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the three months before the problem. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.

You are responsible for the emails you send and the lists you use, and you agree to cover our costs if a claim is made against us because of them.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we update the date at the top. For important changes, we email account owners at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using DesiMail after that, the new terms apply.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, please talk to us first; most problems are solved that way. If not, the courts of Nigeria will decide.
